Columbia woman dies in Howard crash

HOWARD COUNTY – Howard police are investigating a crash on Route 32, resulting in the death of a 71-year-old Columbia woman.

Gladys Ordonez was pronounced dead Friday at Howard County General Hospital, police said.

Ordonez’s Volvo station wagon was traveling eastbound on Route 32, east of Interstate 95, when it ran into the rear of a 26-foot box truck around 11:30 a.m., police said.

The truck driver, Jamette Hayes, 37, of Odenton, was treated for minor injuries at the Columbia hospital.
